SCHEVENINGEN – Op de Dr. Lelykade is donderdag even voor 12.00 uur een auto te water geraakt.
Ter hoogte van het Havenpaleis ging het mis en belandde de auto in het water van de tweede haven. In het voertuig zaten nog twee personen. Een brandweerman in vrije tijd, die toevallig langskwam is hierop direct het water ingegaan om de slachtoffers uit het voertuig te halen.
Het eerste slachtoffer werd al snel uit het voertuig gehaald en is met spoed en onder Politie begeleiding naar het ziekenhuis vervoerd. Omdat de brandweer al met een aantal voertuigen in de haven rond reed in verband met een geplande oefening, waren deze snel ter plaatse. Met de kleine kraan werd de auto uit het water getakeld, waarna het tweede slachtoffer uit het voertuig gehaald kon worden.
Het tweede slachtoffer is ter plaatste gereanimeerd door de hulpdiensten en is met spoed naar het ziekenhuis vervoerd. Ook het Mobiel Medisch Team (MMT) kwam met de traumahelikopter ter plaatse voor het incident.
