Boeren protesteren in Den Haag tegen de voermaatregel
Den Haag – Vanavond hebben een groot aantal boeren ‘op de trekker’ zich gemeld in de Haagse binnenstad.
Net zoals enige maanden geleden verschenen de trekkers voor de poorten van het Binnenhof. Het gaat om een spontane actie waartoe rond 14:00 is opgeroepen.
Ze verzetten zich tegen ‘de voermaatregel‘ die bepaalt dat ze tussen 1 september en 31 december eiwit-arm voer aan hun dieren moeten geven.
Op die manier hoopt landbouwminister Carola Schouten dat de stikstof uitstoot van de sector daalt, waardoor er dan voldoende ruimte over zou blijven om meer woningbouw toe te staan.
De boeren stellen dat zij dus nu ruimte moeten creëren voor andere sectoren, op een manier die mogelijk ten koste van de gezondheid van hun veestapel gaat. Het tegenvoorstel dat zij op tafel hebben gelegd is door de minister van tafel geveegd. Het voorstel van de minister wordt waarschijnlijk vanavond of vannacht ter stemming in de Tweede Kamer aangeboden. Na morgen is de Kamer op reces tot 31 augustus.
